SUBSTANCE USE DISORDER
Substance use disorder (SUD) is a growing public health concern in the United States that can impact an individual’s ability to fully participate in society and the workforce. For states, this may result in a reduced workforce, a smaller tax base and increased social expenditures. To mitigate these potential impacts, states can play an important and unique role in supporting workers and job seekers with SUD throughout the recovery process.
